Spring 2026 Teacher Appreciation Sessions
For the sixth year in a row, I have offered micro-mini-sessions for teachers and staff at my children's school. They are offered in conjunction with Teacher Appreciation Week, which typically lands within the first week of May. Our principal sends out a sign-up sheet via email to all staff, and session reservations are first-come, first-serve. I can typically accommodate 6-8 sessions per day, and I usually offer three different dates (two in May, one during the summer). These sessions are ten minutes long, and staff are welcome to use them for professional portraits, family sessions, best friend sessions, etc. I love it when they bring their pets, too! While ten minutes seems short, we are able to capture various family combinations and poses and galleries usually range from 15-40 images. I love using the Thomas Center, as parking is easy for clients and the grounds are consistently beautiful!
I started offering these appreciation sessions back in the spring of 2021, when I received an email from the PTA seeking services or donations from local businesses for Teacher Appreciation Week. I hadn't been very involved with the PTA yet, having joined the school just seven months prior in the height of Covid. I figured it was a great opportunity to get involved, and finally meet people at school, since in-person events had not yet returned. What a joy it has been meeting so many teachers and staff over the last handful of years, many that my children weren't taught by but have come to know through other interactions! These relationships have made our school community feel smaller, tight-knit, and welcoming.
Our teachers work incredibly hard, and our children have had such a positive experience at school through their interactions and guidance from our educators. These sessions are the least I can do to say "thank you"!
