This session was beyond exciting; not only because it was for my own kid, but because I was able to flex my creative muscle and attempt something I hadn't yet tried before!
I had been thinking of all the different portrait session types I could chose for my own daughter's 6-month milestone session. As a Photographer, the possibilities were endless! I've seen super cute images of babies sitting next to "half" cakes, babies sitting in baskets, and babies sitting on blankets.
I can’t recall the first time I saw it, but when I laid eyes on a “sink session”, I was sold! Talk about endless possibilities: people add in fresh florals, fruit, milk, and even cereal. I figured if I was going to swipe everything off the kitchen counter and stick my kid in a sink, I was going to make the most of it. Therefore, I did a combination of all of those!
Sidenote: so many people have commented to me that Lifestyle sessions are not a possibility for their family, only because their home isn’t something out of a Pinterest pin. Let me assure you this is NOT a requirement to take pictures in your home. In fact, just to prove my point, feast your eyes on what my kitchen looked like just minutes before filling up the sink:
See? Told you anything is possible! If you’re in the Gainesville area and are interested in a sink session for your little one, hit me up via my contact form! Or, if your child(ren) are grown and aren’t into sink bathing, we can attempt a different Lifestyle session for your family.
Enjoy some of my favorite images from Jessie’s session- and check out big bro at the end, who had to make an appearance! 😜
All bows made with love by Katelyn & Cookie.
